It looks like the Smokey's. I have driven through there it is so amazing. Your photo captures the beauty of one of the most beautiful places in the US.
My great-granddaddy was a conductor on a train. I guess working on a train was a whole lot more common back then than now. We have some of his items used on the train, like the lantern he used. Very interesting!
ECL: i must agree, despite my nerves, it was a great drive. too bad we didn't get the chance to walk though... next time maybe
CWM: thanks! it's one of those serendipitous shots =]
Lucy: it is really lovely out there. i am not that ourdoor-sy a person, but that the mountains were breathtaking is an understatement =]
CGQ: my grandfather, too, was a train engineer! i bet back in the day they had more of these trees and less of the concrete jungle we get lost in nowadays...
What a wonderfully mysterious photo. That must have been a fun ride through those misty woods. I didn't play this time, but I very much enjoyed seeing your entry.
