PhotoHunt 94/1: Old-fashioned

With (almost) everything now available instantaneously online in multimedia format, books would seem to be on their way out. But there is still something amazing about the feel of words at your fingertips, the way they flow from a physical page, how the plot unfurls from the paper, as the protagonists' voices resound in the reader's imagination and the latter completes the author's writing process...

Our mini-library at home will never run out of space for new books.

(Starting today, I'm joining the weekly PhotoHunt. Wish me luck hehe More photos in the weeks to come.)

I agree that there is something about having books in your hands that can't be replaced by digital information. Lovely shot of your books. Welcome to photohunters. I enjoy participating in this activity myself. Hope you have a pleasant weekend.

Ya rite. I've tried reading an entire book using a PDA under e-book. The feeling is complete different. Nothing beats the feeling of having a real book and settling down reading it.

Oh, I agree. There is nothing like curling up with a good book.

When I pick up a good book, I literally cannot put it down, no matter how long it takes me to finish. There is no way I could read an ebook for hours, so for me it could never ever take the place of a real, bricks-and-mortar book. Great photohunt post -- mine is on a similar theme, i.e. digital photos versus the old-fashioned kind!

I love books too but have run out of space long ago, despite buying more bookshelves. Now they are on the floor and every surface.
Welcome to Photo Hunt.

I would think on the same terms as you....but if you notice the libraries and the bookstores....even today with the knowledge at your keyboard ----the stores/libraries are jammed packed. And I don't think I'd ever stop buying a 'good read'!!!!

My 'old fashioned' is posted, hope you can drop by and visit with me too, I love visitors!!!

Great pic! I feel the same about books. I've read severeal e-books, and always felt incomplete after. Nothing beats a real book.

Welcome to the Photo Hunt! :) Terrific photo! Both of our humans love books and reading. Books are just so much more portable than e-books, even with PDAs and other electronic gadgets. They can always run out of power, but a book doesn't!

Yes you are right. People likes to read in the net than in books.

It will always be books for me, books that I can feel and smell the pages while I read them. I haven't tried e-books.

Books! Great take on the theme! I thought about featuring a pen and some stationary - since actually writing letters anymore is pretty old fashioned. But I chose something else instead.

Great choice and welcome to The Hunt1

Welcome to PhotoHunt! I love books, too, but had to give loads away to a charity shop, as I ran out of space for them. Have a lovely weekend!
